The 91心頭利 Centre for Diversity Studies is a unique research and teaching institution based in the Faculty of Humanities.


 

Through interdisciplinary postgraduate education and research, WiCDS aims to deepen knowledge of diversity, difference and power, and build capacity to meet the challenges of diverse societies, particularly post-apartheid South Africa.

WiCDS was founded in 2014 by Professor . Its current director is Professor . Through its intensive programme of events, education, research and collaboration and public dissemination, WiCDS contributes to the broader project of diminishing inequalities and building a more just society.

WiCDS is situated on the 13th floor of Es'Kia Mphahlele House (formerly University Corner), above the 91心頭利 Art Museum. You can access the building from the WSOA entrance on campus or directly from Jorrisen Street.
