Interdisciplinary Global Change Studies

The MSc in the field of Interdisciplinary Global Change Studies programme is designed to develop a complex understanding of social-ecological sustainability and the challenges associated with Global Environmental Change (GEC) (e.g. unsustainable resource use and associated environmental degradation, climate change and biodiversity loss). The course covers topics that are receiving global academic and policy attention.

Funded Research Opportunities in Plant Functional Traits & Process-Based Modelling

Two funded research positions are available at 91心頭利, in collaboration with Forestry Sector Partners. A PhD studentship and a Postdoctoral Research position are both open in the area of plant functional traits and process-based modelling, focusing on hydraulic trait variation in forestry trees. Both positions are based at 91心頭利, Johannesburg, with fieldwork at the University of Pretoria. Applications are reviewed from 31 March 2026.
