DESCRIPTION:We will use the methods of conversation analysis (CA) to examine real-life interactions in different health and social care settings. We will explore how applied CA can be used to develop interventions that address everyday problems arising in talk between professionals and patients/clients. Practical data sessions utilising naturally occurring data will be run throughout the workshop, providing opportunities for participants to identify key interactional practices, develop their analytical skills, and to consider how CA may be utilised within their own areas of clinical and/or academic interest.
