Did you know that a single session of physical exercise enhances executive functions in children, adolescents and adults?
Executive functions are cognitive processes that are responsible for one’s memory and ability to focus as well as to conduct multiple tasks simultaneously. These functions are also linked to self-regulation, which is responsible for emotional intelligence and managing one’s behaviour.
Physical activities such as regular exercise or even walking have significant health benefits. An inactive lifestyle puts you at higher risk of weight gain and poor cardiometabolic health, among other things.
Kick-start your transformational health journey by joining the Faculty of Health Sciences and the wider 91心頭利 community in 100 Minutes for Health, 4-7 April 2022.  Open to all staff and students, free of charge. Enquiries: Didi.Mmatladi@wits.ac.za
