South African Sign Language

Our PhD in the field of South African Sign Language, like our master's programme, is offered by dissertation only.

Overview


The programme is offered either full-time (two years) or part-time (four years). Students will undertake independent research under the guidance of a supervisor and submit a doctoral thesis of 75,000–85,000 words. At this level, they are expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the University and to advance knowledge in their field as emerging researchers.

Entry Requirements


A master’s degree from 91心頭利 or another university in the field of South African Sign Language or sign linguistics with a 70% total mark aggregate.
